I was the child who always knew exactly what she wanted to do.

Hailing from regional Victoria I have always wanted to pursue a career in community-based journalism.

A combination of general nosiness and a genuine desire to learn and know more made news the obvious place for me to be.

I love to tell stories and connect with the communities I am in. There are generations of groundbreakers and history makers that are waiting to have their stories told. I want to be the one to tell them.

News is an evolving industry and the freedom to test and learn excites me. Audiences are constantly changing and they’re expecting information in new ways. What an exciting time we live in that we have the chance to meet audiences where they are, create new experiences, and hear directly from them how it lands.

Over the past seven years I’ve worked in general news, sport, travel, and police media, across two states. I know how to get among the locals and embrace them to have them embrace me back.

Alongside daily bylines in Wagga’s The Daily Advertiser and frequent syndication across the Australian Community Media network (including the Canberra Times, Illawarra Mercury, Ballarat Courier, and The Examiner), my work has been featured in ABC NewsSiren Sport, Dubbo Photo News, The Global Society and Minimum Wage Magazine among others.

I’m not afraid to take risks, I love the constant learning and development that comes with being a journalist. I fight for what is right, ethically and morally, to produce high quality, engaging work.

In 2018 I travelled to the United Nations headquarters in New York as a young Australian media representative on behalf of the United Nations Association of Australia.

I have previously worked in content-based roles at Crime Stoppers Victoria, Sightseeing Tours Australia, Zoos Victoria, and Seventh Beam. Additionally, I have completed internships at ABC Melbourne, The Standard, and 3SSR student radio.

I was the first dedicated full-time journalist working under the Gilgandra Newspapers masthead The Nyngan Weekly.

I have a Bachelor of Media and Communication (Professional) from Swinburne University with a major in Journalism and minor in History.
